I liked the premise of the story and think it had potential but fell short. I enjoyed it at first and hoped that the author would develop the characters and plot more. They could have been way more interesting but ended up being thin and boring after a while. Once the characters had sex, it just became all about sex and drama and misunderstandings. Several plot gimmicks were thrown in to try to make the book more interesting but were ridiculous and I couldn't help but feel like rolling my eyes. Contains explicit sex and language.

Incite Adam Rockstar Series Book 1 edition by Heather C Leigh Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews

I'm with another reader who questions those HONEST reviews for a free book. The five-star reviews seem to rarely come from verified purchasers. I got this book free and wouldn't read another in the series if they paid me. My time is valuable and there are so many offerings out there to choose from. This was a long book about teenage angst and drama that continues far into the pairs adult lives. Lies and misunderstandings roll on between the two for years. It got to the point where I couldn't stand either primary character. Neither grows nor is worth the energy it takes to root for them or like them. Ellie, the heroine, is a flighty, weak, liar and cheater. Then there is Adam, who is a gutless, whining, man-skank. Nearly all the drama in the story could have been avoided or easily dealt with if either communicated or used their obviously small pea brains. The author should have just written this as a YA offering and adjusted the language and sensitive content some. Teens might get it. The author should have done a lot before releasing it, like throw this draft out and worked on a real plot line with likable characters.
This was such a waste of time to read. I have never read this author before but saw the review and thought I would give it a chance. First, there was like 80% unnecessary drama and angst created and like 2 chapters of them actually together where NOTHING gets resolved, and at no time to we see any growth in the characters or that they learned to I don't know COMMUNICATE but I'm supposed to believe they make a high profile relationship work? PLEASE. Second, this author seems to think its ok to give the heroine NO redeeming qualities. She actually cheats on her fiancé whom she is JUST using but oh my the way Kiera another character is the bad guy because she is using the hero. She gets the crap beat out of her but thinks its normal that the supposed love of her life doesn't even try to contact her to find out what happened or ask for an explanation for her not being in contact. Remember, she doesn't know that he got a text so we are all ok with him just not following up when he supposedly got blown off. What a waste of time and I wish people who accepted a read for "an honest review" actually gave one.
The use of an editor is desperately needed. There are so many errors, such as typos, missing words, incomplete sentences, improper punctuation, etcetera. The use of British terms doesn't work well with the accidental switches to American terms from the British characters. The whole book was depressing. I FINALLY finished reading THE WHOLE THING, much to my relief. If I had known that throughout the whole story that the two leading characters were going to be feeling sorry for themselves the majority of the time, beaten up over and over, coping with alcohol abuse, domestic violence, violence in general, and hoodlums running amok just to stir things up from time to time, I wouldn't have read the book. It made me feel unhappy and depressed. I don't think that classifying the book as a "romance," or a "fantasy" fits it. Is there a classification for a book full of anger, angst, abuse, sadness, tragedy, and depression? The characters are so juvenile that they never truly act as grownups should act. However, I definitely wouldn't recommend this as a "YA" book, either, due to the language, violence, adult situations, substance abuse, etcetera. I would recommend skipping this book, unless you feel like you deserve to be punished for something, as the lead character feels that he does, continuously throughout the book, over, and over, and over, for at least three quarters of the story.
